1. Star Cool e-business a. All spare part purchases, warranty claim filing, lodgement of data and required information, and warranty payment credits are to be transacted using the Star Cool e-business portal https://service.mcicontainers.com. 2. Warranty coverage, terms, conditions and limitations a. Warranty shall not apply to any product or parts that have been altered, modified, not originally installed to the unit when sold (unless a documented, authorised retrofit), incorrectly repaired or fitted with non-genuine parts. b. Warranty repairs shall be performed by an authorised Star Cool Service Provider at their normal place/s of business, at a location within their designated area of responsibility, and during their normal working hours. c. If the warranty cannot be performed by an authorised Star Cool Service Provider, claims for reimbursement for the repairs can be administered via the claims department claims@mcicontainers.com in accordance with the terms laid out in the Manufacturer’s Warranty S tatement. d. The Star Cool Service Provider is responsible to attend to valid warranty repairs according to the procedures and limitations contained within this document. e. Warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts with new parts purchased from Maersk Container Industry. f. Spare parts will be reimbursed to the authorised Star Cool Service Provider at the reimbursement rate/s listed in the Star Cool Spare Parts Warranty and Service agreement. g. Labour charges for the repair or replacement of defective parts will be according to the time allowed in the Star Cool Standard Time Schedule (STS) multiplied by the Service Provider’s hourly labour rate for normal working hours as listed in the Star Cool Warranty Service and Spare Parts Agreement. h. Maintenance is the responsibility of the owner/operator and as such, any failure or damage resulting from normal wear and tear, lack of lubricant or contaminated lubricant, are not considered warranty. i. All prices for labour, parts and freight are in US Dollars. j. Refrigerant claims are in kilograms, multiplied by the refrigerant rate as listed in the Star Cool Warranty Service and Spare Parts Agreement and are not to exceed the total system capacity. k. Maersk Container Industry is not liable for any associated or consequential costs other than the parts and labour to repair the failure of the Star Cool unit. Associated or consequential costs include but are not limited to the following: Service call-out charges, overtime charges, container handling charges, power, PTI, port access fees, container washing, machine washing, cargo handling/re- handling.
