Integrated Reefer News | Page 4 Box Inspection App Now also available to customers Depots, shipping lines and leasing companies often carry out bulk inspections of containers and struggle with clear overview and reliable data handling to help with their maintenance schedules and assess the physical condition of their container fleet. By using the new Box Inspection App from MCI, this process will become much easier and more efficient – regardless of the brand of container, and whether it is dry or reefer. The app will also facilitate faster repair or maintenance orders for individual containers as well as providing valuable feedback to OEMs. Proven Technology Since it was first introduced in 2015, the Box Inspection App has been used by MCI technicians to perform damage checks and inspections on dry and reefer containers. From November 2018, this app will now be available free of charge for use by the company’s customers. Over the last 3 years, the app has proved its value in making regular assessments of containers damaged during use. MCI uses the app to record details of physical damage, passing the data back to head office for analysis. This data is then used as part of MCI’s ongoing quality control and continual improvement of the company’s products. It is especially valuable in identifying and eliminating potential weak spots. By now making the app available to its customers, MCI will be supporting them in their own inspection work. The Box Inspection App will be available from 6 November 2018 for download from Google Play and the Apple App Store. Star Cool Service App Version 3 The Star Cool Service App currently offers features such as looking up alarm codes, warranty status, manuals, and videos. Now with the latest update, you can expect even more user functions increasing efficiency and streamlining processes. What is new? The new dashboard function enables connection to a container using the Star Cool Connect Dongle. This provides an instant overview of the current software version, active alarms and warnings, and the warranty repair history of the unit. A technician’s toolkit has been added containing temperature, resistance, and pressure converters. You can simply enter the value and instantly see the converted amount in the relevant units. Warranty claims can now be entered directly from the app by scanning or entering container and part numbers, taking pictures, and downloading a datalog directly from the unit using the Star Cool Connect Dongle. The claim is then reviewed by the depot office and submitted to Star Cool via the website. As well as our user manuals, guides, and videos, you can now access e-learning modules via the app. Please contact us at training@ starcool.com to request an e-learning login. The Service App is continuously improved and we always welcome your comments and suggestions at mobile@starcool.com.
